A Simple Flag Etiquette Reminder
As America 250 gets closer, more families, businesses, schools, and communities will be displaying the American flag.
A few basics are worth remembering.
The flag is customarily displayed from sunrise to sunset. If it is flown at night, it should be properly illuminated.
In bad weather, the flag should come down unless it is an all-weather flag made for outdoor use.
When raising and lowering the flag, the custom is simple: raise it briskly and lower it with care.
None of this needs to be complicated. It is just a matter of treating the flag like it means something.
That is the whole point.
