Every Wendell August piece begins with an artist’s vision and passes through the hands of master die engravers and skilled craftsmen using an eight-step process rooted in ancient metalworking techniques. The result is a one-of-a-kind treasure worthy of the moments that matter most.

Our Process

  • Artists — Every piece begins with original artwork, hand-sketched or digitally designed by our in-house artists
  • Die Engravers — Master engravers hand-carve artwork into steel dies using repoussé, an ancient technique of hammering metal from the reverse side to create low-relief designs. Look for the engraver’s hidden signature in the artwork.
  • Craftsmen — Using recycled aluminum and specialty metals, our craftsmen complete the repoussé process — hammering, forming, and finishing each piece in our coal-fired forge
